Board renews temporary use permit for Tyndale Christian School with July 2026 review

The Arlington County Board on Dec. 16 approved a renewal of a temporary use permit for Tyndale Christian School that allows up to 40 students through July 2026. Staff explained this is an interim step while a separate permit for up to 80 students will be reviewed in July 2026, at which time staff expects to reconcile the concurrent permits.

Representatives from the applicant said operations have been successful and they were present to answer questions. Public testimony included a statement of support from the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and process concerns from the Lion Park Citizens Association about parallel permits and notice; the association said it did not object to renewal but asked for a May 2026 briefing and clearer communication on any mid‑process changes.

Board members confirmed staff typically reaches out in late April/early May to civic associations ahead of the July review and asked staff to ensure the community receives updated materials. The motion to renew the 40‑student permit with a July 2026 review passed unanimously.
