Hickman County schools mark an ATSI exit and historic 'reward' high school while superintendent clarifies resignation

District staff used the meeting to publicly recognize recent accountability gains and to comment on leadership transitions. Later in the meeting, the district superintendent addressed recent press coverage and his resignation. He said: “No board member asked me to resign. No board member suggested that I resign. No board member pressured me to resign.” He described his departure as a personal, prayerful decision that included medical considerations (knee replacement surgery) and encouraged the board to support the next director. He emphasized district progress and urged continued community support for schools.
