Hickman County board votes to record and livestream public meetings

Hickman County School Board members voted to record and livestream public meetings and any meeting for which public notice is required.

Board Member (Unidentified Speaker 4) moved that the district 'record livestream board meetings, special call meetings, budget meetings, work sessions, or any meeting where public notice is to be given.' After discussion about the transparency benefits and concerns about non-voting sessions, the board held a roll-call vote. Several members voted yes; Doctor Coop and Miss Herron recorded 'No' votes. The motion carried.

The board instructed staff to implement livestream capability and to return with scheduling and technical details. Implementation steps and a timeline were discussed as follow-up actions for the communications and IT teams.
