Board approves minutes, claims and two small sewer adjustments; next meeting Dec. 29

At its Dec. 8, 2025 meeting, the Martinsville Board of Works and Safety handled routine administrative business, approving the minutes from the Nov. 24 meeting, accepting claims, and approving two sewer adjustments.

A board member moved and a second approved the Nov. 24 minutes by voice vote. The board also accepted the claims presented; one board member asked a separate question about the theatre during the claims review. The board approved two sewer adjustments: 840 South Ohio Street for $350.19 and 60 Massey Road for $39.41; a motion was made and seconded and the adjustments were approved by voice vote.

The presiding officer announced that, because of holiday scheduling, the Dec. 22 meeting will be moved to Monday, Dec. 29 at 6:30 p.m., and staff distributed dates for the 2026 meetings. Board member Kelly Bray raised a question about a concert whose start time had been moved from 7:30 p.m. to an apparent 2:00 p.m. matinee; staff said they would check with event staff to confirm ticket availability and notifications.

The meeting adjourned with no further formal business.
