Committee actions and motions: approvals, referrals and routine business

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners’ committee took several procedural and substantive actions during the meeting.

The committee voted to receive the county clerk’s report and the October finance report. It recommended a year-end budget amendment to the full board (committee action), which proposes roughly $3.8 million in transfers to capital and equipment funds and includes a proposed $1,000,000 allocation for jail capital needs.

On parks business, the committee accepted the recommendation to use Roe Professional Services for Meyer Mills County Park design work and moved the Pleasant Lake playground proposal from Sinclair Recreation (total $259,100; township contribution $8,400) to the full board for approval.

The treasurer’s quarterly report was moved forward and the committee approved routine claims and minutes. Commissioner Pulaski moved and the committee voted to instruct administration to provide numbers at the Tuesday meeting showing costs associated with a proposed 3% increase for elected officials.
