Board prepares administrators/board workshop and holiday potluck; committee calendar announced

During the meeting the board shifted into a board-members/administrators workshop format: the superintendent explained breakout table assignments and provided process-observer feedback about improved nonverbal communication and active listening among participants.

The superintendent urged the board to build relationships ahead of difficult budget and facilities discussions and finalized table pairings. Board members discussed hosting a potluck-style holiday meal for principals and central office staff; the superintendent said the event must be open to the public and that the gathering should avoid deliberative decision-making. Participants volunteered to coordinate drinks and supplies.

At the end of the meeting the presiding officer announced upcoming committee meeting dates: Learning Committee Dec. 11 (5 p.m., Prescott Memorial School), Finance Committee Dec. 18 (4:30 p.m., Central Office), Facilities Committee Dec. 18 (5:30 p.m., Central Office) and the next board meeting on Dec. 18 at Central Office. The Region 8 board meeting date appears on the packet as Dec. 17 (year printed in packet appears inconsistent and should be verified in posted materials). The meeting adjourned at 8:17 p.m.
