Valley View to replace Bolingbrook High boiler burner; $50,000 maintenance grant and $106,500 contract approved

The Valley View CUSD 365U Board approved moving forward with a boiler‑burner replacement project at Bolingbrook High School and approved execution of the contract with Stanton Mechanical for $106,500 pending attorney review.

Treasurer Renich outlined the School Maintenance Project Grant, a dollar‑for‑dollar state matching program that provides awards up to $50,000 for maintenance or upkeep projects; administration recommended applying for the $50,000 maximum and reserving local funds to meet the required match. Facilities staff said the two main boilers at Bolingbrook High are about 20 years old and that replacing the burner would extend reliable operation and reduce maintenance for roughly 15 years.

Officials also said the improved heating plant could make the district eligible for an energy/gas rebate estimated at approximately $9,000. The board voted to approve the grant application, reserve local matching funds and approve the Stanton Mechanical contract pending legal review.
