Wayzata board approves FY2025 audited financials and establishes combined polling places for 2026

The Wayzata Public Schools Board unanimously approved the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, and accepted the assigned fund balance allocation presented by district finance staff.

Jack Stearns, director of finance, told the board the audit—conducted by LB Carlson—returned a clean opinion with no material findings or internal control deficiencies. The board approved the audited statements and the assigned fund balance of $11,294,845.20 by roll call.

Amy Geiss, the district administrative assistant and election clerk, presented a recommendation to establish combined polling locations for the 2026 school‑district elections, given a referendum on the April ballot. The district will use five polling locations (Wayzata City Hall, Fourth Baptist Church, Wayzata Creekside Building, Hamel Community Center, and Plymouth Community Center) and keep the district service center as the absentee location. The resolution to adopt the combined polling places passed by unanimous roll call.

Both items were presented as routine recommendations and carried without additional amendments. Staff will file the audit records and submit the polling resolution and levy certification paperwork to the appropriate county and state offices as required.
