Commission briefs on sidewalk master plan focus groups and the city’s new SeeClickFix tool

Members of the Liberty Lake Community Engagement Commission received an update Dec. 17 on the city’s sidewalk master plan and the digital tools planned for resident input.

The chair said the Dec. 5 kickoff had set a schedule calling for two to three focus-group meetings in January and early February and broader community engagement in February and March. "The final focus group would be late March, and they want to report early in the spring," the chair said. Commissioners were asked to help develop and implement engagement approaches during those months.

Staff also described the city’s new SeeClickFix feature (accessed via a "Make a Request" button on the city homepage), launched in September, which lets residents mark problems on a map — from overflowing trash cans to tripping-hazard sidewalks. David said residents who cannot complete online requests can call city hall or go to the library for staff assistance.

Commissioners discussed survey platforms for forthcoming engagement. Staff and several commissioners noted the city has a paid subscription to Zen City and agreed it should be used when the survey format fits; some longer or more complex consultant surveys may still be handled outside that platform.

Commissioners designated Mark Saba and Logan Langford as the working group for sidewalk planning and asked staff to ensure commission representation at planned sessions.
