Watershed meeting approves minutes, postpones officer elections and schedules Jan. 16 meeting in Enoch

The watershed group approved the minutes from its last meeting, clarified rules for officer elections under its bylaws and scheduled the first 2026 meeting for Friday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. in Enoch.

During roll call Carly Payne read names of attendees including Brandon Yarbley, David Harris, Nick Braithwaite, Paul Monroe, Scott Stubbs, Spencer Jones and Stephanie Hill. After confirming members had reviewed the prior minutes, Scott Stubbs moved to approve and David Harris seconded; the chair called for an aye vote and members indicated unanimous approval.

The chair and Carly discussed the bylaws and said the chair and secretary terms appear to be held in the same year while the vice chair term falls two years later; Carly had pulled up the bylaws and suggested holding elections for chair, vice chair, secretary and the Utah Watersheds Council representative in January. The chair said that the Great Salt Lake reference in the bylaws did not apply to this group.

On scheduling, members examined calendars and agreed to meet Friday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. in Enoch. "So January 16, 11AM," an attendee confirmed; Stephanie said she would send a calendar invite and an email asking members to come with ideas and, if needed, to provide proxies so elections can proceed. Members discussed offering a virtual option to ensure quorum.

With business complete the chair moved to adjourn, a second was offered, and the meeting concluded with brief thanks and goodbyes.
