The council on Dec. 3 approved several administrative and technology items reported by finance and personnel committees, and heard community announcements.
A special finance committee recommended staff enter into an agreement with Civic Plus to license and configure three software modules and purchase any additional hardware at a cost not to exceed $68,000 for the first year; the council approved the recommendation 9‑0. The finance committee also recommended purchases of equipment, software and services from Heartland Business Systems and Camera Corner to upgrade primary and disaster‑recovery servers and storage at a cost not to exceed $285,000; the council approved that purchase 9‑0, with funding from information systems capital and fund balances.
Separately, the Board of Public Works/committee recommended and the council approved the purchase of city hall windowsill material from Consolidated Construction Company Inc. for $28,177 (9‑0). During public forum, Carrie Lindrum announced her reelection campaign for District 1 and supplied contact information; that announcement was recorded as part of the public‑comment period.
Clerk Nagel and staff noted that meeting minutes and committee materials are available on the city website and that capital and software purchases will proceed through standard procurement and implementation channels.
