ACP compliance subcommittee to share MPAA draft with MCPD and Police Accountability Board

The Advisory Commission on Policing's compliance subcommittee reported a consolidated initial draft of the MPAA and plans to circulate it to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and the Police Accountability Board (PAB) for review and feedback.

A subcommittee member said the draft does not include final conclusions; the group intends to collect written comments or meet in person with MCPD and PAB staff to ensure accuracy and collaboration before finalizing recommendations for County Council in January.

"We want to make this a collaborative effort," a subcommittee participant said, adding that feedback could correct misunderstandings or indicate where the agencies are already implementing the commission's findings.

The draft was shared with ACP members via the meeting agenda email, and the subcommittee will work with staff to identify the right contacts at MCPD and PAB and request written feedback or schedule meetings to obtain their input.
