Anacortes names new Nokia reseller under cooperative purchase agreement

City staff told council that the city’s fiber backbone operates on a Nokia system and that the prior reseller could not reach terms for a successor agreement. Using a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing agreement, staff identified a new reseller and requested council authorization to formalize a memorandum of understanding naming Mobile Communications America Inc. as the city’s Nokia reseller for equipment and support.

Council moved and authorized the mayor to sign contract 25‑293‑FBR‑001 with Mobile Communications America Inc.; roll‑call vote was unanimous. Staff said the contract standardizes procurement options for Nokia equipment and ensures continued support and reseller access for the city’s fiber operations.
