Supervisors approve final plans for 4 Corner Bridge project with $600,000 estimate

Wright County supervisors voted to approve final plans for the 4 Corner Bridge, a BRO project corrected in the meeting to a 14-by-12 twin box culvert.

Secondary Roads staff told the board the structure was misstated in prior discussion and is a 14-by-12 twin box culvert measured from outside box to outside box. The program currently lists an estimated budget of $600,000, and staff said the project is expected to be let through the Iowa Department of Transportation on March 17. Engineers’ cost estimates were presented to the board.

A supervisor moved to approve the final plans "as presented" and the motion passed by voice vote. Staff described end treatments (riprap and sheet pile) and said savings in one area would be used for additional protection on the outlet.

County staff will provide plan sets to the contractor and proceed with DOT letting procedures; no change to the county’s five-year program was recorded beyond approving the presented final plans.
