Wheat Ridge amends CIP to accept $1.2 million for public‑works property acquisition

The Wheat Ridge City Council approved a resolution on Dec. 8 to amend the 2025 Capital Improvement Program to recognize and appropriate $1,200,000 for acquisition of property at 4593 Parfit Street to expand and consolidate public‑works and parks operations.

Councilor Mike Okada introduced Resolution 508‑2025 and staff said the parcel has already been purchased under an approved loan agreement with the Urban Renewal Authority (Renewal Wheat Ridge) and that the supplemental is an accounting cleanup so the city may properly accept and expend funds without audit exceptions. 'This property has already been purchased... this is just a cleanup, to amend the budget,' staff said.

Council approved the resolution by voice vote (recorded in the transcript as '8 ayes, no nays'). Staff said they will return with expansion plans at a later date.
