Human resources reports improved retention signals and proposes added onboarding for special education teachers

Miss Carlisle presented the human resources update, focusing on recruitment, retention and onboarding.

"At this point, we look like about over 98% of that 80% plan to return," Miss Carlisle said, describing the districtollow-up on teacher intent forms and the staffing planning that will inform the budget cycle. She told the board many job postings are already roughly 50% filled since the report was written.

Carlisle said the HR team will resume certification and recertification work in January and that principals have received personnel-request budget forms. She outlined an onboarding proposal that retains the standard three-day new-teacher orientation and would add an additional day specifically for special education teachers (to address software, processes and job-specific steps), contingent on available funding.

Board members thanked HR for the report and asked for follow-up on funding sources and the timeline for implementing the expanded orientation. Carlisle said she will continue working with departments and principals to identify funding and will return with more detail as budget planning begins in the new year.
