Hampton Township extends Jordan Tax Service contract for 2026–2029 tax collections

Hampton Township council voted Nov. 19 to award a four-year contract extension for real estate tax collection to Jordan Tax Service for 2026 through 2029.

Manager (unnamed) said he had solicited a proposal from Berkheimer Tax Services — identified in the discussion as the state’s largest tax collection company — which would have saved roughly $812 annually compared with Jordan, but he recommended Jordan based on the company’s local staffing and ability to provide in-person service during high-payment periods at the Feitz Building. “I think that savings is nominal compared to the service you're getting, especially during those high tax payment periods,” the manager said.

The motion to award collection services to Jordan Tax Service per the manager’s memo dated Oct. 30 was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Council members voting in favor were Miss Blackburn, Miss Fritch, Mister Sholley and Doctor Johnson; one member was excused.

The approved extension covers tax collection services only; specific contract terms and any performance conditions will be reflected in the manager’s memo and the final contract document.
