Chilton County commission approves routine hires, budget actions and invoices; chair announces liaisons and holiday event

Chilton County commissioners conducted routine business including approval of an amended agenda, a consent agenda containing minutes, several new hires, a probate precinct relocation and other routine resolutions. The consent agenda was moved (mover recorded as Commissioner Billingsley) and seconded (Commissioner Bone) and was approved in the meeting record.

County staff requested a resolution to extend a current loan maintenance contract on a month-to-month basis until the county moves into a new courthouse; the commission approved the extension unanimously. The commission also voted to issue $15,000 to the Board of Education to satisfy Alabama Code §16-9-24; the motion was identified in the record as moved by Commissioner Bohm and seconded by Commissioner Perkins and passed unanimously.

Later in the meeting, commissioners approved payment of Thompson Tractor invoices; the recorded tally was six yes votes and one abstention (Commissioner Childress).
