Nogales council approves contracts with Chamber, Port Authority and McKinstry for services and renovation

The Nogales City Council approved three orders by voice vote during the Nov. 25 special session.

Order 2025‑11‑038 authorized a professional services agreement with the Nogales Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce. Order 2025‑11‑039 authorized a professional services agreement with the Greater Nogales Santa Cruz County Port Authority. Both motions were moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.

The council also approved Order 2025‑11‑040, a construction services agreement with McKinstry (referred to in the meeting as the selected state‑contract vendor) to renovate the Nogales Administrative Service Building. Council discussion noted McKinstry expects to utilize local subcontractors and indicated plans for approximately $1,000,000 in local construction spending related to the project. Council members said the renovation will add office space, parking and improvements for HR, public works and police services. No dissent was recorded; all three motions passed.
