The council completed a large consent and orders calendar, including appointments, moratoria and capital‑project amendments.
In nominations, Harold Barrios received sufficient votes and was reappointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission pending a resolution. The council also reappointed and appointed multiple fire‑district and recreation commissioners and approved capital and grant amendments for drainage, coastal restoration and other parish projects.
Among business items the council approved were extensions of six‑month moratoria in several wards to allow time for comprehensive rezoning work and staff review; a capital improvement amendment to add funding for removal of dilapidated boats in Salt Bayou; and a proclamation recognizing Saint Tammany’s America 250 activities. Several ordinances and resolutions on the consent calendar passed by majority votes as listed in the official minutes.
Council members said moratoria are intended to give staff and the public time for planning and to avoid ad hoc approvals while the parish pursues larger comprehensive rezoning efforts.
