Canton council approves sewer‑credit agreement for Northside Hospital Cherokee

The City of Canton council unanimously approved a sewer‑credit agreement with Northside Hospital Cherokee on Dec. 4, authorizing monthly credits to the hospital’s sewer bill to account for evaporation from its cooling tower.

City staff (Mister Ingram) told the council a draft agreement is before members and that meters necessary to quantify evaporative losses are installed and connected to the city's advanced metering infrastructure. He asked the council to authorize the mayor to sign a resolution adopting the agreement; a councilor moved to approve and authorize the mayor to sign, and the motion passed with no dissent.

Ingram thanked Northside Hospital and its consultant (Energy 1) for their cooperation, and said staff will finalize the written resolution for signature. The council recorded approval and authorized staff to execute the agreement and bring the final resolution for the mayor's signature.
