City staff presented a draft consent package that renews a master contract with Camtech for cameras, access‑control badges and related services used across city buildings.
Dave Steel said the contract renews parts and materials and labor/install services with not‑to‑exceed amounts of $1.5 million over three years for each of those lines. He said the contract includes a one‑year extension option and that Parks plans to add alarm/monitoring services under a smaller $150,000 three‑year blanket to monitor park facilities. Fire department units will also begin standardizing on Camtech products.
Steel said the contract functions as a master agreement that allows multiple departments to “jump on” the contract for replacements or upgrades rather than running separate procurements. Councilmembers asked clarifying questions about the not‑to‑exceed numbers and confirmed the figures were intentional and similar to other master contracts.
Next steps: the renewal is slated for the consent agenda and will proceed through the usual contract approval process.
