Board previews new JRD website, discusses admin, donation policy and public meeting logistics

Board members reviewed a draft landing page and content plan for a new Eastern Delaware County Joint Recreation District website and discussed how the site will support outreach and operations.

An unidentified presenter demonstrated the draft landing page, pointing out features such as a prominent survey link, a meetings-and-minutes link (currently hosted on the City of Sunbury’s account), placeholders for board photos, and a contact form that will route inquiries to Sunbury staff. The presenter said the site account was set up through Sunbury but can be transferred to the JRD in time and asked the board for feedback on desired content, partner links and donor/sponsor recognition.

Board members raised governance questions about site administration and edits, and asked that a donation policy be drafted before the board solicits gifts. One member volunteered it would be helpful to identify a board admin (the presenter suggested Jody as a primary point of contact). The group also discussed whether a chatbot or AI-driven response tool would be appropriate; members said the idea merits further review and a cyber policy.

The board discussed practical matters for public outreach, including a planned tour of the Bob Crane Center in Hilliard on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. and how to identify larger venues for future community meetings after turnout exceeded 90 people at an earlier meeting. The board set its next meeting for Jan. 12, 2026 at 7 p.m. at Sunbury Town Hall and asked consultants to schedule a January public outreach meeting as part of the study timeline.
