Trustees used the Nov. 20 meeting to recognize school achievements and staff service. Eastpointe Academy’s Strings Ensemble performed for the board, and PCSD leaders recognized Butler Academy and Legacy Early College Elementary as among South Carolina schools earning distinctions from the Alliance for Healthier Generation.
The board honored Dietrich “Dee” Drayton, Medicaid and health administrator for PCSD since February 2022, who will retire Nov. 30 and rejoin the district as a part-time contractor in January 2026. Leaders praised her work on Medicaid compliance and quality assurance across the district.
Eric Norton, general counsel for more than a decade, and Stan Davis, strategic-plan advisor, also received recognition for long service and leadership contributions. The board presented a core-value award to Andrea Green for collaboration and commitment to student-centered work.
Chair and trustees applauded the honorees' service and noted a reception following the meeting.
