The Bossier Parish insurance committee received an update that the parish has contracted BMI Audit Services to conduct a dependent eligibility audit beginning in January, with an approximate 13-week timeline and electronic submission for dependent documentation.
Nisha Bamberg, chief financial officer, said the parish has used BMI Audit Services for the previous two audits and that the firm has expanded its electronic platform to simplify employee submissions. "We've already signed the contract for it, and we've started — we're scheduling our kickoff call," Bamberg said. She added that the vendor offered guarantees, and if projected savings do not at least equal the contract cost, the parish would receive a refund.
Bamberg said employees will be able to upload dependent documentation electronically and that the process should be faster and more user-friendly than the prior audits. The committee was told the initiative is on track to start in January and that the audit is expected to last about 13 weeks, depending on the kickoff date.
The item was presented for discussion only and no committee action was requested.
