Board adopts resolutions setting April 7, 2026 school board election and filing window

The North Kansas City School District Board of Education approved a package of resolutions at its meeting that sets the district's annual school board election for Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The resolutions (read aloud and adopted by motion and voice vote) include placing Proposition A on the ballot to elect two board directors for three-year terms, designating the Clay County and Platte County Boards of Election Commissioners to handle ballot mechanics and logistics, authorizing the district to pay its prorated share of election expenses, and establishing the candidate filing window.

Under the adopted schedule, filing for board membership will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, at the board secretary's office (2000 Northeast 46th Street, Kansas City, MO 64116) and will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025. The resolution text was signed by Jane Reinhart, President of the Board of Education, and Peggy Cole, Secretary/Clerk (as cited in the resolution language read to the board). The motion to approve the resolutions was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
