Onslow County Farmers Market moves to monthly winter schedule; first winter market Dec. 13

Marie Schwinefus, representing the Onslow County Farmers Market, said the market is shifting to a winter schedule to keep pantries stocked through the season.

Schwinefus said the market will operate once a month through March on Dec. 13, Jan. 28, Feb. 14 and March 28, with full Saturday markets resuming in April. She described winter produce from high- and low-tunnel growers and a hydroponic vendor offering lettuces and microgreens, and added that local meats and eggs will be available.

The market is located at 4024 Richlands Highway near the government complex; Schwinefus noted ongoing center renovations and advised attendees about parking near the Market Building and the Discovery Garden trail.
