City honors Lowe’s Hometown Heroes volunteers who renovated park restrooms

The commission opened its meeting by recognizing a volunteer effort supported by Lowe’s Hometown Heroes to renovate restrooms at Jean Robertson Field.

Director Lundquist introduced the recognition. Recreation Park Superintendent Anna Ambreese described the partnership with Lowe’s and said the program “consisted in beautifying and improving the restrooms at Jean Robertson” and included “the donation of all fixtures and materials to beautify that space.” Ambreese listed volunteers (Priscilla Camacho, Carlos Benitez, Monce Garcia Mejorado, Katie Mann and Monica Morales) and presenters gave certificates and photos.

A Lowe’s representative thanked city staff and said the company looks forward to more projects in Salinas. The commission and staff took a group photo and thanked volunteers for their service. No policy action was associated with the recognition.
