The Area Planning Commission approved routine subdivision and county rezoning items, including two minor primary/secondary subdivisions and multiple county rezoning requests.
Staff presented minor subdivision docket 99 (near West Cassidy Drive), an 8.61-acre parent tract to be divided into two residential lots; Health Department review was pending, sanitary sewer and public water were not available, and staff recommended primary and secondary approval conditioned on Health Department approval and recording within 90 days. The commission approved the motion by voice vote.
Minor subdivision docket 102 (East Moyer Drive, 3.08 acres) received primary and secondary approval; staff noted an updated plat addressed prior comments and required a road-cut permit and recording within 90 days.
County rezonings considered requests to change RS to A-1 agricultural/rural residential for parcels in Lewis (10530 East State Road 246 and 10532 East Union Drive) to allow farm animals and horses; staff cited local guidance and Indiana Code (including the Right to Farm protections) and recommended approval. The commission also approved rezoning 605 Putterpoint Court from Open Space to RS to bring the parcel into compliance and allow the existing single-family home to be combined and to claim a homestead exemption; the petitioner was represented by counsel.
All of these items passed by voice vote with the normal recording, permitting and Health Department conditions identified by staff.
