The Building Advisory Committee approved a set of invoices presented at its Dec. 3 meeting and reviewed updated budget and schedule information for bond‑funded school projects.
Invoices presented included two invoices described for Grama ($33,500 and $39,000 as described in the meeting), three Perkins Eastman invoices covering schematic design and stage 2 addendum work ($424,526.95; $47,994.30; $290,336.95) and a Vortex invoice for asbestos inspections ($6,350). A motion to approve the invoices was made, seconded and carried with recorded ayes.
Committee staff also circulated an updated school bond workbook maintained by staff that shows approximately $1,200,000 in payments to the town to date (not including the newly approved invoices, which will be added in the next reporting cycle). The team said the project budget for the middle school is being held at $72,400,000 and the capital improvements program budget at $68,900,000; schedule milestones were reviewed, including that schematic design (SD) cost estimates for both the CIP and middle school projects are expected to be available for the committee on Jan. 12. The project team noted that stage 2 submissions to the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) are pending and that RIDE/SBA review is likely in mid‑December.
