Riverside Local board approves pre-discipline meeting notice for Dr. Christopher J. Rotino after executive session

Following a recess into executive session to consider employment and legal matters, the Riverside Local School District Board of Education returned to open session and approved a resolution directing the treasurer to serve a pre-discipline/pre-termination meeting conference demand on Dr. Christopher J. Rotino by electronic delivery with proof of delivery.

The board recessed into consecutive executive sessions citing statutory authority for personnel and legal discussions (transcript references RC 121.22 g 1 and 3 and RC 102.03 b). The time going into executive session was recorded at about 06:07–06:09 PM.

After the executive session the board approved a pre-discipline/pre-termination meeting demand (document attached to the resolution as incorporated by reference) and directed the treasurer to serve it on Dr. Rotino immediately. The motion to approve and serve the demand passed by roll call, 3–1; Miss Grassi cast the lone Nay vote. Members discussed that no separate resolution was necessary for a prior pre-discipline item and then moved forward with the directive to serve the notice.
