Livingston Parish board authorizes bids for Live Oak multipurpose buildings and STEM center addition

The Livingston Parish School Board voted unanimously to authorize advertising for construction bids on multi-purpose buildings at Live Oak Elementary, North Live Oak Elementary and South Live Oak Elementary and to advertise for an addition to the STEM center in Denham Springs.

Board member Robert Sealy introduced the Live Oak projects and thanked design contributors, including Chris Bankston, for their work on the plans. Sealy asked the board to grant authority to advertise for sealed bids; a motion to do so was seconded and approved without opposition.

Mister Cecil Harris presented the request for the Denham Springs STEM center addition and asked the board to grant the superintendent authority to proceed with bidding. The board approved that request by voice vote.

No contract awards or bid amounts were announced during the meeting; staff said the bidding process will proceed under standard procurement rules and that formal award decisions will return to the board for approval.
