The Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included approval of the Oct. 30, 2025 regular meeting minutes and a scoreboard proposal.
After that vote, the board considered a budget amendment for the general operating fund to roll forward purchase orders. Chief Finance Ms. Moseley presented the September financial report, outlining tax collections (general fund), top revenue drivers (state formula funds and TRS on-behalf payments), general fund expenditures with instruction and maintenance and operations among top items, and the district’s investment pools. Trustee Morris moved to accept the budget amendment and Trustee Smith seconded; the board carried the amendment unanimously.
The board also approved Lancaster ISD’s submission of LASO Cycle 4 grant applications. Dr. Knight summarized planned initiatives included in the LASO applications; Trustee Cortez moved to approve the submission and Vice President Nichols seconded. The motion carried without opposition.
Board members asked clarifying questions about rising payroll costs; staff attributed the increase to recent teacher compensation adjustments and confirmed that payroll was a driver of the year-over-year change in expenditures.
All financial documents cited by presenters were uploaded for board review, and staff indicated follow-up reconciliation and reporting would be provided to trustees.
