Waterloo resident tells board of alleged assault, accuses county staff of cover-up

Aaron Stacy Roberts, identifying himself from Waterloo, used the public-comment period to allege a historical sexual assault of his daughter and accused county employees and other officials of participating in a cover-up.

Roberts named a number of people during his remarks, including a former police officer he identified as Charles Tedesco and others he said were involved in intimidation and "brainwashing" of his daughter. He also criticized a past county official, saying "I'm very happy that Tony Thompson is out of the way, because I feel that he was very much a part of the cover up by failing to investigate." Roberts asked the board to investigate the alleged failure to investigate, which he described as ongoing.

Roberts said he had performed his own investigations and referred to a composite drawing and a report to a hospital; he repeatedly framed his statements as allegations and urged the board to act. He said he had not spoken to his daughter in about 14 years and that witnesses exist who he said could corroborate parts of his account.

Board members did not announce any formal follow-up during the public comment period. The matter is an allegation by a private citizen; the board did not take a formal investigative action during the meeting.
