The Farmers Branch Arts & Culture Committee on March 20 finalized promotion and logistics for an Artist Exchange event next week aimed at recruiting artists and boosting the city’s artist database. Committee members said invitations were sent from the committee database and that social-media outreach targeted neighborhood groups to drive attendance.
A committee member said, “We have our big event next week,” and members reviewed operational details: a step-and-repeat backdrop labeled Mustang Station Arts and Culture, a six-foot table for swag, cookies and bottled water, and volunteers to staff the table. Lydia is scheduled to act as the staff liaison for the night, and committee members arranged to photograph the event for the newsletter and social posts.
Staff reported they posted the event in Farmers Branch community channels and will track how many people enroll in the artist database after the event as a measure of outreach effectiveness. The committee discussed cross-promotion through the Hello Farmers Branch newsletter and plans to push a simplified URL and QR code to make sign-ups easier.
The committee also confirmed outreach guests and local appearances—staff noted that Miss North Texas (Caroline Kaye) will appear with crown and sash after receiving permission from pageant organizers—to generate additional local interest. Members agreed to follow up on any email bounces and to resend invitations as needed, and to provide event materials to council staff for calendar placement.
Members asked staff to evaluate sign-up numbers in two weeks and report back. The committee emphasized volunteer coverage and asked members to continue promoting the event through school and neighborhood channels.
