Historical Park board approves 2023–24 officer slate, moves October meeting

Chair Misty Dewars presented procedural business at the outset of the meeting and the board moved quickly through consent items and elections. A motion to approve the Aug. 24 minutes was made and seconded; members said “aye” and the motion passed.

The board discussed procedures for selecting officers and then accepted a proposed 2023–24 slate. Chair Misty Dewars presented the slate naming Misty Dewars as chair, Anne Christensen as vice chair and Jenny Welch as secretary. After a call for comments, a member moved to accept the slate, another seconded, members voiced “aye,” and the motion passed. The transcript does not record individual vote tallies.

Members also discussed scheduling and moved the October meeting from its regular Thursday slot to Wednesday, Oct. 25, to accommodate member availability and local events. A motion to reschedule the October meeting was made, seconded and approved. The board did not record numeric vote counts in the transcript; the record indicates vocal assent.

The meeting closed routine business and proceeded to updates from staff and the Friends of the Historical Park about programming and volunteer needs. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
