Speaker 2 gave a rundown of upcoming Historical Park programming and arts activity. The charcuterie board class and art cello summer camp are sold out, and Speaker 2 highlighted family programs including 'Moms and Sons' on May 5. Denton Drive Live was listed for May 11, June 1 and July 13, with the May 11 lineup described as Latin fusion.
"Independence Day celebration, of course, will be out here. It's on Wednesday, July 3rd," Speaker 2 said, adding that the event will include live entertainment, music and fireworks. The board also heard that Girls Make History camp will run July 15–19.
On public art, Speaker 2 said the Westside Art Trail's newest piece, 'Foxy,' has been delivered to off-site storage and is awaiting installation; two additional pieces are currently being commissioned. Speaker 2 described ongoing coordination with the Arts & Culture committee and other city partners to expand installations and events across the city.
Board members discussed how historical park staff will work with arts partners and other boards to support events and the event center preview next week.
