The Farmers Branch Historical Park Board received its Q2 report and discussed community programming, including concerns about inconsistent event listings that confused attendees.
Speaker 2 said the historical park's Q2 (January–March) visitation and engagement rose, with 119 nonresidents and 82 resident attendees for programs. She reported a 3% decrease in overall revenue for the quarter — described as typical for the slow season — and said expenditures decreased approximately 4%, saving roughly $17,500 compared with the prior year. Major program revenues included the Mad Hatter Tee ($3,750), the adult Easter egg hunt ($3,570) and Girl Scout workshops (about $1,300).
Board members praised recent events (including Drive Live and charcuterie classes) and noted out-of-town visitors. "We had a great turnout," Speaker 2 said of the preview events.
Separately, Speaker 2 raised a marketing concern: several event listings for Denton Drive Live on social platforms and special-events pages showed inconsistent addresses (examples given: 12715 Rossford Street and 12700 Denton Drive), leading to audience confusion. She asked staff to coordinate with marketing (Rachel Johnson and Jocelyn) to correct listings and suggested the series could be renamed "Farmers Branch Live" so location information would remain accurate regardless of venue.
The board did not take formal action but directed staff to verify event addresses on city and social media pages and to provide corrected links and updates as needed.
