Gage County supervisors approve consent agenda, separately approve a claim involving an affiliated company

The Gage County Board of Supervisors approved the consent agenda at its Dec. 24 meeting, including minutes of the Dec. 11 meeting and claims through Dec. 24, 2024 totaling $1,170,673.35. The board then handled one claim separately after a conflict disclosure.

Claim No. 241-0281 to RL Team Construction Inc. for $27,658.78 (described in the meeting as payment for gravel and hauling) was pulled for separate consideration because a board member disclosed a business involvement with the company. A motion to approve the claim was made and seconded; the board approved the claim with a 4-0 vote and one abstention by the member who disclosed the involvement. The chair noted the company was one he was involved with.

Board members later described that the regular-agenda action would bring the total paid claims to about $1.198 million (the transcript lists a total of approximately $1,198,323.13). The board proceeded with other routine matters after the vote.

The approval included a motion and roll call recorded in open session; individual member votes beyond the abstention were recorded only as totals in the public transcript.
