Planning commission approves minutes, sets 2025 schedule and votes to send recommendations to county commissioners

At its January meeting the Albany County Planning & Zoning Commission handled procedural business before its substantive hearings. The commission approved the minutes from the Dec. 11 meeting after limiting edits to factual corrections and agreed to address amendment text changes at the February meeting.

Commissioners adopted a regular‑meeting calendar for 2025, keeping meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m.; that schedule includes dates through January 2026. The motion to adopt the schedule carried unanimously.

The commission also confirmed that the Arthur Forks subdivision application was withdrawn by the applicant and would not be considered at this time; commissioners encouraged staff to share any lessons learned with the panel should the matter return.

In other formal actions, the commission voted to recommend approval of the Taylor conditional use application (CU‑01‑24) with a condition tying approval to the applicants’ satisfactory resolution of a dispute with the Centennial Water and Sewer District. The commission separately voted to recommend the Laramie Growth Area intergovernmental agreement to the Board of County Commissioners with suggested language amendments; staff will consolidate written comments from commission members and submit them to the Board and city staff.

The commission reminded members that at the February meeting they will elect a new chair and vice chair following disclosures and conflict‑of‑interest checks.
