The House read three house concurrent resolutions on the consent calendar. HCR 153 commemorates Molly Davies' transfer of 350 acres in Wheelock to the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation and directs the secretary of state to send copies to Molly Davies and Chief Don Stevens; the resolution notes a conservation easement and that the transfer was consummated without cost to the band.
HCR 199 congratulates the Boys and Girls Clubs of Vermont's 2024 Youth of the Year honorees and designates April 4, 2024 as Boys and Girls Club Day at the State House; members in the gallery and specific youths were recognized from Brattleboro and Burlington. HCR 201 honors Cindy Scott's third-grade class at Twinfield Union School for creating and sending fidget-toy packets and personal notes to children treated at Saint Nicholas pediatric hospital in Lviv, Ukraine, and recounts a related Zoom between the students.
Members rose to welcome guests including Molly Davies and members of the Nulhegan band, staff and youth from Boys and Girls Clubs, and Twinfield students and teachers. A member from Waterbury described the land transfer as an act of private philanthropy and asked the House to recognize the guests.
