House concurs in Senate amendment on social work compact; chamber adopts ceremonial resolutions

The Vermont House concurred in a Senate proposal of amendment to House Bill 543, which would adopt the social work licensure compact. Members from human services and appropriations summarized that the Senate amendment adds two sections under human services jurisdiction to clarify existing processes related to general assistance emergency housing and associated documentation; the body voted to concur.

Earlier on the calendar the House listened to readings of two house concurrent resolutions on the consent calendar: HCR 211 designating April 11, 2024 as Tourism Economy Day, and HCR 213 congratulating the Vermont Housing Finance Agency on its 50th anniversary. The resolutions cite tourism spending and sector employment figures and summarize VHFA’s programs and accomplishments; they direct the secretary of state to send copies to relevant organizations.
