The Vermont House on Jan. 30 opened the calendar with first readings of three house bills and a notice-calendar Senate bill referral.
House Bill 4841 was read on the floor as H.841, "an act relating to increasing access to a blenderized whole foods diet for individuals receiving nutrition through a feeding tube," introduced by representatives Bloomley (Burlington) and Levitt (Grand Isle). The bill was given its first reading and referred to the Committee on Human Services.
House Bill 842, introduced by Representative Lalonde (South Burlington), was read as H.842, "an act relating to the creation of a forgivable loan incentive program for graduates of the Vermont Law School," and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development.
House Bill 843, introduced by Representative Burke (Brattleboro) and others, was read as H.843, "an act relating to the jurisdiction of the Human Rights Commission," and referred to the Committee on General and Housing.
The Speaker also noted a notice-calendar item, Senate Bill 18, "an act relating to banning flavored tobacco products and e-liquids affecting the revenue of the state," and referred the bill to the Committee on Ways and Means pursuant to House rule 35(a).
These were first readings or referrals; no committee reports or floor votes on the bills were recorded in the transcript for Jan. 30.
