Senate sets committee meetings and adjourns until April 10

Multiple committee meeting times were announced on the floor: Government Operations and Institutions at 1:15 p.m.; Education and Finance at 1:30 p.m.; several policy committees (Transportation, Health & Welfare, Natural Resources & Energy, Economic Development) scheduled at or around 10:00 a.m.; and the Senate Democratic Caucus at 12:15 p.m. The legislative reader recited Joint Resolution JRS 52 setting adjournment on Friday, April 12, 2024, and the Senate adopted the resolution by voice vote.

Pending announcements, the Senator from Chittenden Central moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 10. The presiding officer put the question, senators indicated "aye," and the presiding officer announced the ayes had it and the Senate would stand adjourned until that date and time.

One senator (from Caledonia) noted that the Appropriations Committee may need to adjust its start time due to a witness conflict. No committee minutes, witness names, or roll-call votes for committee scheduling were recorded in the floor transcript.
