The House of Representatives used part of its June 30 closing session to honor two departing members, Representative Lidia Méndez Silva and Representative Ángel Bullerín Ramos.
Representatives from multiple delegations recounted decades of constituent work, committee leadership and local projects. Lidia Méndez Silva recounted the importance of body donation resources for medical education and noted a governor's veto on a previously approved joint resolution; she described committee work, hearings and inter-university visits. Colleagues praised her long record in health and social-service policy.
Members also honored Ángel Bullerín Ramos, recognizing 32 years of service and substantial constituent work in infrastructure, municipal services and district projects. The House unanimously approved a resolution to name the Salón Café in the Capitol for Ángel Bullerín Ramos and a gallery plaque for Lidia Méndez Silva, and members delivered personal remarks and anecdotes about their work with both public servants.
What happens next: The House approved the resolution(s) and directed that the relevant signage and formal dedications be scheduled as recorded in the final entry adopted by the chamber.
