District staff provided a detailed update on moving into the new elementary building and on the master schedule and staffing logistics.
Speaker 6 said staff will meet PK–5 teachers to review classroom furniture assignments, room budgets, moving and packing checklists, and timelines; staff emphasized that occupancy is inspector-dependent and clearance from fire, health and elevator inspectors must be obtained before people may occupy the building.
Teacher-facing details include inventories for each classroom, a checkout sheet that must be signed before items are moved, and a plan to keep many preschool supplies and Head Start-funded items in place to preserve equity across rooms. District movers will operate in July and teachers were given a tentative in-building arrival date of Aug. 1.
Speaker 3 explained the new master schedule for the elementary (a six-day rotation) that guarantees one hour of planning time for all staff and builds consistent PLC/collaboration periods into the day; the schedule is intended both to protect uninterrupted reading time for students and to eliminate the prior early-Wednesday dismissal by embedding collaboration time into each day.
Staff outlined a May 20 tour for teams, contract-day expectations for end-of-year packing, and volunteer needs for library and packing support. No formal board action was taken; staff requested board awareness as they implement the move plan.
