Council recognizes long-serving employees Janice Cervantes and Lisa Gist

At the Jan. 15 meeting the Roseville City Council recognized two long-serving city employees. Janice (Jana) Cervantes was commended for 26 years with the city, starting as an assistant engineer in October 1998 and later serving as a senior engineer overseeing traffic engineering; the council cited her role on the major accident investigation team and awards for service and innovation.

The council also commended Lisa Gist for 19 years of service. Gist’s work was described as spanning Parks, Recreation & Libraries, and Roseville Electric, where she contributed to FERC accounting processes and led enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation efforts, improving citywide overtime practices and payroll and accounts payable oversight.

Both employees spoke briefly; Cervantes thanked staff and colleagues, and Gist said she looked forward to travel in retirement. The council offered a group photo and best wishes.
