The Village of La Grange Board of Trustees adopted a resolution honoring Assistant Finance Director Joe Manusa for 26 years of municipal service, and the board presented Manusa with a plaque.
President Kukor read the resolution that detailed Manusa’s tenure in the finance department, roles including assistant finance director and acting finance director, and cited the village’s 28-year streak of distinguished budget and certificate-of-achievement awards for its comprehensive annual financial report. The resolution also noted Manusa’s work during the COVID-19 pandemic to secure reimbursement and pursue funding through the CARES Act and FEMA.
Trustee Gail moved to approve the resolution “as presented,” and the board approved it by voice vote. Colleagues offered remarks: Lou Ciperoni said, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with him each day for many, many years…we all do appreciate it,” and Manusa told the board, “I’d like to thank the Village Board past and present for their support and allowing me to serve the residents of La Grange for the last 26 plus years.”
The resolution lists Manusa’s intended retirement date as September 29, 2023. The board did not identify a successor during the meeting; the resolution and remarks focused on gratitude for Manusa’s service and the department’s continuity.
Looking ahead, the board presented a commemorative plaque and recognized other finance staff members in attendance.
