Chad Stuckey, who identified himself as speaking on behalf of non-senior students and their parents, used the board's public-comment period to press the East Penn School District Board on high-school parking.
Stuckey said current parking rules reserve permits for seniors, leaving juniors and sophomores to hunt for street parking. He described Pine Street as offering about 40 spaces and said students are "having to get up at about 5 o'clock in the morning, get there about 6, and then wait for about an hour, hour and 15 minutes before school starts," which he said imposes stress on students who are athletes or who need their cars after school.
Stuckey suggested the district explore reopening or reallocating the J Lot (which he and others say often has unused spaces) and consider working with the borough to allow limited neighborhood permits to some students. He asked the board to facilitate a dialogue with school administration and borough officials; administrators acknowledged the request and said they would follow up.
No formal board action was taken that evening; the public comment concluded and the board moved to business items.
