Council committees forward multiple appointments and okays Lions Club dog-walk waiver

Multiple committees moved personnel appointments and a community event waiver forward during the meeting.

Personnel committee members interviewed Tracy AR Jolly for the Board of Registrars of Voters; Jolly described long-term residency and prior library trusteeship and the committee voted to send her appointment out to pass. The committee also approved sending Catherine Hahn’s appointment to the Commission on Disability out to pass; Hahn described her experience living with multiple sclerosis, previous work in education and her involvement with a workforce-development coffee shop initiative.

The special permits and other committees also handled reappointments and designations (including Sarkis S. Chinian as chair of the Board of Registrars and the reappointment of Paul Scanlon Jr. to the Commission on Disability).

In public safety and licensing, a Lions Club representative presented a proposed charity dog walk at Horn Pond, outlined event logistics and insurance plans, and asked for a waiver under a recently amended ordinance. The public safety committee received the petition and voted to send the waiver out to pass.
